Stirs Things Up in Havana, Cuba!
Montreal, Qc, Canada – KoSA Music proudly presented their 22nd edition of KoSA Cuba Workshops – a hands-on musical immersion of Cuban music, its rhythms, history and its unparalleled musical culture to a select group of participants who came from Canada, Europe and the United States for a truly unique educational experience.
Hosted by KoSA Music’s director, Aldo Mazza, KoSA offered a 7-day jam packed schedule to the delight of the attendees who were thrilled to learn all about this magical and musical island in the Caribbean.
The Faculty included some of Cuba’s top musicians such as: Giraldo Piloto, Oliver Valdes, Tomas Ramos “El Panga”, Dr. Olavo Alen Rodriguez, Julio Valdes Fuentes, Juan Carlos Rojas “El Peje” and KoSA’s very own author on Cuban rhythms -Aldo Mazza.
Participants who ranged in expertise from complete beginner to very advanced players, were able to participate in hands-on classes, partake in daily jam sessions with some of the very best Cuban musicians, enjoy nightly concerts at the Fiesta del Tambor with privileged VIP seating, and take in the important sites of Old Havana.

Participate in a thrilling, one week study program including activities and concerts of the “Havana Rhythm and Dance Festival” – individuals and performing groups are welcome – this event is open to all. Experience intensive hands-on daily classes with major Cuban artists, concerts, lectures, historical and cultural visits. All instruments are supplied on site.

An incredible variety and depth of knowledge has been passed from generation to generation, maintaining centuries old African-based traditions through groups and families throughout the region.
