ALDO MAZZA | drumset, hand percussion, Arabic frame drumming, southern Italian hand drumming, classical percussion

Founder and Artistic Director of the KoSA International Percussion Workshops and Festivals, and member of the internationally acclaimed percussion ensemble Répercussion, Aldo is a world recognized drummer and percussionist.  He has performed with such artists as James Brown and Chris DeBurgh and has recorded with Celine Dion, Jon Bon Jovi and Aldo Nova. 


MARIO MONACO | Brazilian percussion & samba class

Mario is most recognized for his dedication and musical abilities in the variety of Brazilian rhythms.  He has performed with Al di Meola, Paul Winter and Sambeamba, and has recorded with Claude Dubois, Querubim Samba, and Mamadou Baye to name a few.  In 2004 he was also a faculty member for the KoSA International Percussion Workshops and Festivals.


WARREN STOLOW | bassist, pianist, guitarist, vocalist, composer/lyricist

A well known performer, educator and composer, Warren is the winner of the Lauriate du Festival du Jazz du Montreal in 1983. He has played with such groups as L'Orchestre Sympatique and Quartz, among others. He will be leading the "How to Play in an Electric Band" ensembles at the Academy.

Un interprète, un éducateur et un compositeur bien connus, Warren est le gagnant de Lauriate du Festival du Jazz du Montréal en 1983. Il a joué avec des groupes tels que L'Orchestre Sympatique et Quartz, entre d'autres. Il mènera les ensembles "Comment jouer dans un ensemble électrique" à l'académie.


BENJAMIN GARANT-PRUNEAU | drumset

A professional musician since 2005, Benjamin studied drumset and percussion with Aldo Mazza.  He has participated in several KoSA International Percussion Workshop and Festivals and studied at the Conservatory of McGill in the Jazz Combo program directed by Bill Mahar.  Benjamin has performed with several jazz, R&B and rock groups in the area of Montreal.

Musicien professionnel depuis 2005, Benjamin à suivi une formation en batterie et percussions avec Aldo Mazza. Il a participé à plusieurs KoSA International Percussion Workshops and Festival et a étudié au Conservatoire de McGill dans un programme de combo Jazz dirigé par Bill Mahar. Benjamin a performé avec plusieurs groupes de musique jazz, R&B et rock dans la région de Montréal.


JOHN DIRAIMO | drumset

John has played with several pop, jazz, fusion and Latin formations in the Montreal area.  He has received a diploma in Drums and Percussion from Humber College of Applied Arts and Concordia University. John has been an instructor at KoSA Academy for 3 years and has regularly participated in the annual KoSA International Percussion Workshops and Festival.

John a joué avec plusieurs groupes jazz, pop, fusion et Latin dans la région de Montréal.  Il est diplômé du Humber College of Applied Arts et de l’Université Concordia en batterie et percussions. John enseigne a l’académie KoSA depuis 3 ans et a participé à plusieurs KoSA International Percussion Workshop and Festivals.


SEBASTIEN RIVARD | bass

In 2001 Sébastien moved to Montreal, and studied with Michel Laplante at Marie-Victorin College and with Sylvain Bolduc at Saint Laurent College. Involved in various projects, in 2004 he went on tour in the United States for 8 months. He currently works the Montreal music scene and has been an instructor at KoSA Academy for 2 years.

En 2001 Sébastien a installé à Montréal, où il a étudié avec Michel Laplante à la Cégep Marie-Victorin, et Sylvain Bolduc à la Cégep St-Laurent. Évoluant dans plusieurs formations, Sébastien a eu la chance de jouer avec d’excellents musiciens, et de partir en 2004 pour une tournée de 8 mois aux États-Unis. Pigiste et actif dans plusieurs projets, Sébastien est instructeur à l'académie KoSA pendant 2 années.


LUKE FOWLIE | guitar

Luke graduated with a Bachelor in Guitar Performance from McGill University.  Since then he has traveled and studied at the Conservatory in Geneva, Switzerland.  He has participated in various master classes and has studied with well known guitarists Manuel Barrueco, Fabio Zanon, and Graham Devine to name a few.


PAUL PICARD | Studio Percussion

Paul is one of Montreal’s busiest recording and performing percussionists. He is the percussionist for Celine Dion and Gregory Charles. He has also recorded and performed with many of the top artists in Canada. 


YVES CYPHIOT | African drumming 

Having studied with the masters in Africa, Yves is a well respected African drumming specialist. He is a busy performer as well as teacher in the Montreal area.
